Christmas Letter

The Murphy newsletter was such a hit last year, that here is the 1999 version. Again, apologies to those of you who have seen us during the year and been subjected to our news already.

Christmas 1998 was great fun as I recall and look back at the photo albums. James was old enough to appreciate what was going on and Laura at 1 year old was awake long enough to join in the fun as well. The highlight for James last year was waking up at 5:30 am and finding his sac on the bed with a gollywog on top. Then going downstairs to discover his stocking on the chimney with a juicy orange in it (his only request to Father Christmas). Being allowed to eat chocolate early in the morning, as the photo shows was also a great treat for both of them.

January 1999, James began "Mrs Barry’s School" - a Montessori nursery in Grayshott (4 miles away) which he attends 3 mornings a week and is really enjoying. The highlight of the week for him is Showing Day - a Friday for him, when he takes something in i.e. toy, book, photographs to share with the other children and to explain why it is special to him etc.

February - Simon’s birthday and we all went to the Sea Life Centre at Southsea to see the sharks. Laura began to walk and life became easier as she could follow James at a quicker pace. Very soon she was running after him and in March needed her first pair of shoes.
